A former district courthouse built in 1776 is up for sale in Norfolk.
The grade two listed property in Rollesby, with five bedrooms and five bathrooms, is on the market with Fine & Country for more than £700,000.
The original character of the courtroom can be found throughout with high ceilings, fireplaces, bay windows and timber floors in the three receptions and home office.
A sixth bedroom sits in the external annex within just under an acre of land.

The Old Courthouse was built as a workhouse in 1776 and bears an inscription above the door, stating that the institution was “for the instruction of youth, the encouragement of industry, the relief of want, the support of old age and the comfort of infirmity and pain".
Part of the house was rented for the courts from the mid-1800s and in the cellar you can still see shackles on the wall.

The workhouse and courtrooms were in use until the early 20th century before being fully used as the local courthouse.
The judge sat in the large bay window at the front and the rest of the main sitting room formed the remainder of the courthouse itself.
You can see the sails of Rollesby Broad Sailing Club from the bedroom windows and the property is around 10 minutes from the beach.
