Drivers are facing major disruption on a busy main road after five-way lights were put in place for emergency works.

The work, carried out by Essex And Suffolk Water, is to provide utility repair and maintenance on the A143 at Bradwell at the junctions with Mill Lane and Long Lane.

Heavy traffic is reported from Green Lane to Crab Lane which is expected to build during rush hours.

Setup on Monday morning, the lights are due to come down at midnight on Friday.

Earlier this month, a nearby sliproad on the A47 was closed after a burst water main flooded the road, causing difficult driving conditions for motorists.

Bottles of water were delivered to people living in the St Edmund's Park housing estate while they waited for supplies to be restored.
