Work progresses at the development of a new nursing home in Great Yarmouth.

The former Eversley Nursing Home on North Denes Road was demolished in May to make way for a modern centre with 42 rooms with en suite facilities.

The home's existing residents have been temporarily relocated to other care homes in the area, as the new Eversley Lodge Nursing Home is expected to open its doors in late 2024.

A spokesperson for Eversley Lodge owner Kingsley Healthcare said: "We are looking forward to opening this truly next-generation nursing home in the later months of next year.

"Whenever we open a new home we look for ways to support the local community as it is important for residents to feel at the very heart of their community.

"We will be providing regular updates on the building project and begin our advertising for a wide range of jobs at Eversley Lodge next summer."

The new nursing home will contain 42 bedrooms across three floors, with purpose-built en-suite wetrooms.

There will also be much-improved amenity areas, including three lounges, a hair salon, and a new catering kitchen.
