A Gorleston woman who was served a 28-day eviction notice from her Bungay care home has to be out by Monday.

Christine Lee, 75, has been a resident of All Hallows Care Home for the past 12 months.

Ms Lee - who was previously a resident and still has a flat at the St Augustine's Place assisted living complex in Gorleston - received a 28-day notice of a cancellation of contract from NorseCare, effectively evicting her from All Hallows and leaving her without care if she returns to St Augustine's.

Following a protest held outside County Hall by supporters of Ms Lee, her daughter Linda Taylor said Norfolk County Council has agreed to send Ms Lee to Westerley Residential Care Home for the Elderly in Lincolnshire near her family.

A Norfolk County Council spokesperson said specialist transport was being arranged for Ms Lee.

The spokesman added: "We are supporting her to move there and are hopeful that a new care placement will provide Mrs Lee the environment that she wants."

In an online video, Ms Lee said she still wishes to return to her home in Gorleston.
