A pair of lifeboats will be officially named at a special ceremony on the coast.

On Sunday, October 1, Great Yarmouth and Gorleston RNLI station will conduct a service of dedication for the 'George and Frances Phelon' and the 'John Rowntree'.

The ceremony, which is invitiation-only, will be led by the The Bishop of Thetford, Right Reverend Ian Bishop. This will be his first public event in office.

The ALB 13-44 ‘George and Frances Phelon’, the country's first ever legacy lifeboat, was named after the late couple whose will funded its construction.
