A Norfolk octagenarian who completed 90 new activities before his 90th birthday will be signing copies of his book about travelling the world.

Gorleston man Malcolm Metcalf, 89, who recently finished his '90 before 90' challenge, will be at the Oak Room in the Maids Head Hotel in Norwich on Sunday, October 15.

He will be signing copies of his book, 'My Adventurous Life', between 11am and 1pm.

The book, a self-published hybrid of memoir and travelogue, was first published in 2019 and describes the author's travels around the world, during which he has visited more than 50 countries.

Mr Metcalf's '90 before 90' challenge ended on Saturday, September 30, when he travelled across Norfolk in 15 different modes of transport including a horse and barrow, a chimney sweep van and a police car.

Before that, he had flown a plane, edited a newspaper and become the oldest ever entrant at the Gorleston Cliffs ParkRun.

The quest was part of efforts to raise £10,000 for the Priscilla Bacon Hospice.
