The organisers of Great Yarmouth's revived In Bloom competition have hailed the contest as a display of community spirit.

The longstanding Great Yarmouth In Bloom competition disbanded in June following budget cuts by Great Yarmouth Borough Council.

The competition, which ran on annual grants of around £15,000 to "florally enhance" the borough, also provided hanging baskets along many of the borough's busiest thoroughfares.
