Drone photographs have revealed the extent of the latest erosion damage in Hemsby.

The images come after the high tide and wind battered the stricken community yesterday evening, further eroding cliffs and property, including 30 metres of road along The Marrams which completely fell away.

Hemsby Gap and dunes to the north and south also suffered collapses, creating "very dangerous" conditions as emergency services rushed to restrict access to the area.

Hemsby Lifeboat warned people to avoid the area where possible, saying the dunes are at risk of further collapse and walkers should remain "extra vigilant".

Photographer Luke Martin shot the scenes from above with a drone, saying: "It is sad but I can't really see much change anytime soon, just more coastline being lost every day."

Some 337 homes were left without power this morning after engineers switched off power in the area "in the interest of the public's health and safety".

This comes just weeks after Hemsby was said to be "hanging by a thread" in the wake of storms Agnes, Babet and Ciaran that brought gale-force winds and tidal surges to much of the UK.
