A bug hotel that was burned down in an arson attack has been rebuilt - and renamed Buggingham Hotel 2.0.

The shelter, built for insects as part of a community project on the grounds of the Sea Life Centre in Great Yarmouth, was destroyed in a blaze in September.

Now - thanks to volunteers and local donations - the bug hotel has been rebuilt "bigger and better than ever".

A spokesperson for the SeaLife Centre said: "After our original hotel met its unfortunate demise due to an act of arson, we were greatly touched by well wishes from the community and offers to assist in a rebuild."

The centre thanked KJP Carpentry and Joinery for their donations of supplies, time and expertise, as well as Norfolk Wildlife Trust for their donation of supplies to fill the hotel and make it suitable for lots of bugs.

"We can't wait until springtime when we will be planting lots of native flowers that will help us get our insect resort full of lovely bees, wasps, butterflies and other invertebrates," the spokesperson said.
