A police probe into the theft of jewellry from a woman's home has now closed.

Investigations were launched after thieves broke into a house on Pier Plain in Gorleston between December 12 and December 18.

Carol Hayward, who lives at the address, was not there during the burglary - but told this newspaper last month of her devastation after the suspects stole her parents' "priceless" wedding rings.

A spokesperson for Norfolk Police said: "All lines of enquiry have been exhausted and this case has been closed."

Officers will still review any new information provided to them.
