"Our staff will always ensure to do our best when it comes to our customers," said a statement on social media.

"Your safety is our priority and the stigma around the pub previously shouldn’t be used to tarnish it now. Everyone is human, everyone makes mistakes and learn from those mistakes and safety is not something we will compromise on.

"We don’t wish to discuss the issue any further as it is an ongoing issue with the police but want to say all staff helped on this occasion to deal with this as well as our local regulars."

The former Miss Norfolk contestant told this newspaper she saw one of her friends on the floor, being punched and kicked by several people at about 10.30pm.

She attempted to break up the fight, but was punched by a man who allegedly shouted racial abuse at her.

A man in his 30s from Manchester was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has since been bailed.

A spokesman for the pub added they working with the police as part of their investigation.
