People living in the county are invited to attend a World Cancer Day fashion show which gives survivors a chance to stomp down the runway.

The event has been organised by Norfolk Angels on behalf of Cancer Research UK and will take place at the Great Yarmouth Cancer Research UK Superstore.

The fashion show hopes to honour and celebrate those who have been affected by cancer.

Cancer survivors will model donated clothing, with students from East Coast College pampering the models for their runway walks.

The chair of Norfolk Angels, and organiser of the show, Rachael Donovan, said: "I took part in a similar event in February 2020 and was inspired by the atmosphere and enthusiasm of the ladies who gave up their time, who were out of their comfort zone, and all came together for this amazing event.

"As a cancer survivor it is important for me to give something back to Cancer Research UK – and that is to raise as much money as I can, with the support of my family and friends.”

In January 2011, Rachael was diagnosed with stage four non-Hodgkin's lymphoma after finding a pea-sized lump in her neck.

She had only been married for six months and had a three-year-old daughter at the time.

This year marks the sixth year of support from the Norfolk Angels who fundraise for Cancer Research UK's life-saving research.

Sophia France, relationship manager for Norfolk and Suffolk, Cancer Research UK, said: "One in two of us will get cancer in our lifetime, but all of us can support the research that will beat it.

"All are welcome to join, where together, we will remember loved ones and celebrate the tomorrows made possible by progress in research."

The fashion show takes place February 4 from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
