Free one-to-one tech training is available for people in Great Yarmouth living with sight loss.

Vision impaired residents can access monthly lessons on navigating digital devices offered by Vision Norfolk and retired IT professional, David Page.

The sessions take place on the last Wednesday of every month at the charity's hub at Hall Quay.

“Technology is transforming the way that vision impaired people can live independent lives,” said Mr Page, who only has about 3 per cent vision in one eye after suffering melanoma when he was 49.

“But for those of us who didn’t grow up with digital technology, getting to grips with it – and really making the most of the opportunity technology offers – can be daunting.

"Our aim is to show that technology doesn’t have to be daunting, and to show that in fact there is a lot of enjoyment to be got out of it.”

From smartphones to smart doorbells, Mr Page uses tech to lead an independent life and is keen to share his knowledge.

The sessions are free, but advanced booking is required.
