A new cafe - which also boasts a tattoo studio - is seeking permission to sell alcohol.

The Vault, on High Street in Gorleston, has lodged the application with Great Yarmouth Borough Council.

The business owner Jackson Harmer wants a licence for the sale of alcohol from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 9pm on Sunday.

The cafe is on the site of the former Belly Boos cafe which closed down in 2022.

Last month, planners approved Mr Harmer's bid to reopen the premises as a mixed use business including a cafe and tattoo studio.

Plans show the cafe in a room at the front of the premises with a tattoo studio in a room behind the cafe.

In a nod to the building's former life as a bank, the new business will be called 'The Vault'.

It is proposed it will employ 15 people.

The council also approved an application to convert the building's first and second floors into a house of multiple occupation (HMO).
