Four fire crews attended a hospital in Norfolk after smoke was seen coming from disabled toilets.
Crews from Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Martham and Lowestoft South fire services were called to the James Paget University Hospital on Lowestoft Road in Gorleston, near Great Yarmouth, at about 2pm.
A blown fuse in the toilet facilities opposite Marks & Spencer’s was the cause of a smoke alert and required patients and visitors to temporarily move from the area while it was investigated.

One woman, who was in A and E at the time, said: “The alarm went off and staff immediately told everyone to get out, there were three fire engines and it was being taken very seriously, I was told there was smoke coming from the disabled toilets.”
On call manager at James Paget University Hospital, Steve Chalkley, said: "A smoke alarm went off in a toilet opposite the Marks & Spencer in the hospital, fire crews are currently on site to perform checks and people have been ushered away from the hospital."
The stop message for the incident was received by Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service at 2.50pm.
Services continue to run as usual today and emergency services continue to remain available at the hospital.
