A family has been left "devastated" after an Amazon delivery driver allegedly ran over and killed their dog.

Christina Antill, 56, a care home manager, and her husband John, 68, a joiner, live down a rural track off Common Road near Martham.

On Monday afternoon, after a sad start to the day in which the couple had put their elderly cat Wilbur to sleep, Mrs Antill wandered down the track with her Lakeland Terrier-Jack Russell cross, Kizzie, to feed their horses, as she did every day.

Minutes later, Mr Antill would be confronted with the dead body of her dog, who had been off her lead as usual.

According to Mrs Antill, the driver, who had just delivered a parcel to her neighbour, sped down the track and ran over Kizzie.

Mrs Anthill said: "He was driving extremely fast so I told my husband, as I was concerned for Kizzie who had headed back home.

"My husband said he saw the brake lights flash briefly then accelerate on.

"From my perspective, I did not see the van slow at all and it continued at high speed down the track."

A neighbour's security camera footage of the driver has since been passed on to police and the couple alerted Amazon to the incident.

Norfolk Police confirmed that the incident had been reported to them and that enquiries are ongoing.

Kizzie, who would have turned 15 next week, had been in the Antill's lives since she was eight weeks old.

Mrs Antill added: "We are just devastated.

"We feel that it wasn't an accident as he made no attempt to stop before or after the incident.

"John has found it particularly difficult as he was confronted with the bloodied body of our sweet girl."

"Kizzie didn't deserve this brutal end to her life."

A spokesman for Amazon said: “We’re taking this matter seriously and we’ve reached out to offer our support.

"We’re investigating with our delivery service provider.”
