A developer is hoping to bulldoze a seaside house that was home to generations of the same family for at least 100 years.
Beach House Developments Ltd has submitted plans to Great Yarmouth Borough Council demolish the dwelling on Beach Road in Scratby and build nine bungalows.
The house, which dates from the 1800s and was occupied by generations of the same family, was sold at auction in 2022 for £534,000.
According to the plans, the new houses would be single-storey, three-bedroom dwellings, with access off Heather Avenue.
A statement submitted with the application says the proposal would make a valuable contribution to the local fabric of the area by providing "much needed single storey living for older people or people with disabilities"
"We are currently experiencing a housing crisis within England and therefore significant weight should be given to the proposal such as this which are clearly and demonstrably within sustainable locations and would not extend development within the open countryside," the application states.
