Two feathered visitors were the stars of the show during a care home celebration.

Eversley Lodge Nursing Home in Great Yarmouth marked International Friendship Day with music, food, and community companionship on Thursday, July 30.

Singer and comedian Johnny Laff kicked off the day with laughter and singalongs, entertaining residents and guests with familiar tunes and jovial jokes.

A highlight of the afternoon was a visit from Evie’s Owls, where residents enjoyed meeting Sarah the barn owl and Hoot the tawny owl.

Handler Mark engaged everyone with facts about the birds before giving residents the chance to gently stroke the owls, an experience described as "magical" and deeply memorable.

Danielle Bullent, home manager at Eversley Lodge, said: "It was a truly special day.

"Seeing our residents' faces light up during Johnny's performance, enjoying Kane's wonderful barbecue together, and then getting to meet Sarah and Hoot was just magical.
