Engineering-giant Amec has joined forces with America's Foster Wheeler in a deal combining two major player's in the UK's oil and gas sector.
The new firm, Amec Foster Wheeler, will hold revenues of £5.5bn, a future order book of £6.3bn, and would have made a pro-forma trading profit of £521m in 2013.
It comes after Amec revealed earlier this year that it had agreed a £2bn deal to buy the US firm,
Samir Brikho, chief executive of the firm, which will have a base at Edison Way, Great Yarmouth and employ 40,000 people globally, said: 'In creating our new company we are building on the proud heritage, skills and customer relationships of two already successful and highly respected businesses.
