Squeezing into a tracksuit is not normally a problem for most people, but when you weigh 32 stone and stand

6ft 9in it can be something of a tall order.

These generously-proportioned garments were made to order for

customer Phil Martin at a clothes store for the larger gentleman in Great Yarmouth.

Shop assistants Hayley Whatling and Amy Davies could fit easily into the fleece and each leg of the 80-inch waist tracksuit bottoms when they tried them for size.

Tony Felstead, who owns the Biggerland clothes Store in Southtown Road, said: “When you are as large as this customer you cannot go in the shop and buy off the peg.

“The clothes have to be made especially for Mr Martin in London, and it shows just how big they are when you can comfortably fit two people in.

“It is not possible to wear jeans or shirts when you are that size

because they just cannot be made

big enough, but the gentleman buys

T-shirts, jogging pants and fleeces from us.

“He is certainly our largest customer and is a really nice guy and so polite. I would describe him as a gentle giant.

He added: “The tracksuit trousers and fleece are size 8XL, but most of my customers are size 3 or 4 XL.

“The leg length is a more average size, 31 inches, because the tracksuit fits under his tummy.

“A lot of bigger guys are embarrassed by their size, but they shouldn't be - it is still possible to be just as fashionable as slimmer people.”

Mr Felstead has been running the store in Yarmouth for about

18 months after spotting a gap in the market for larger men's clothing in the town.

And offshore worker Mr Martin certainly ranks among the satisfied customers.

He told the Mercury: “I shop at the store regularly and Tony is fantastic - he really goes the extra mile to help me.

“I am very big and would like

to lose weight but just haven't got

the will.”
