STUDENTS finally discovered if they had made the grade yesterday with the arrival of 'A' level results.
For many it bought good news, with the overall passes at East Norfolk Sixth Form College, in Gorleston, only slightly down on last years' all time high.
The college achieved a 97pc pass rate, with 72pc of entries scoring A to C grades compared to 70pc in 2007.
The average 334 university points score per student was just 3 points below last year's record score.
College principal Laurie Poulson said: “This is another fantastic performance by local students and the area should be very proud of its young people.
“This year, no fewer than 50 students gained the points equivalent of four grade A passes and over 200 got the equivalent of three grade A passes.
“The success was spread right across the college and an amazing 23 A level subjects had 100pc pass rates involving well over 500 entries.”
