A GREAT Yarmouth manufacturer of industrial X-ray inspection machines has released a range of 2D and 3D X-ray images of a pumpkin ahead of Halloween to demonstrate the capabilities of its contract X-ray Computed Tomography service.

Shaw Inspection Systems, have produced pin-sharp images including computer-generated pumpkin "slices" revealing all the interior details of an uncut monster vegetable. The images typify the unique capabilities of the company's imaging service, which can produce clear three-dimensional x-ray images of very large objects.

Used for non-destructive testing of wide range of industrial materials and components, Shaw Inspections Systems' Modular X-Ray Bay is also available for more unusual commissions from artists, photographers and the media. It can handle large components up to 200kg in weight, 1m in diameter and up to 2m in height.
