The A47 has re-opened after a four vehicle crash.

Police were called at 2.49pm today (Monday) to reports of a crash between four cars.

An Audi, Ford, Volkswagen and a Merecdes were involved in the crash at Burlingham, before the dual carriageway merges into a single carriageway.

Fire crews and paramedics were called to the scene but no-one is believed to have been injured.

Appliances from Carrow, Earlham and Sprowston attended the incident, making the scene and vehicles safe.

The westbound carriageway was blocked while emergency services attended.

A police spokesman said: “Police were called to reports of an RTC between four vehicles.

“A diversion was put in place and drivers advised to avoid the area.”

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “An ambulance was called to a road traffic incident on the A47, near Blofield, shortly after 2.50pm today (Oct 8).

“A number of persons were assessed at the scene. None required ambulance transport.”
