THE Nelson Museum in Great Yarmouth has a new curator - Acle girl Hannah Bentley.

She took over from Faith Carpenter this week, who is expecting a baby any day.

Faith said: “I wanted to leave Hannah with as much information about the job as possible, so we have spent the last four weeks going over the running of the museum to ensure a smooth handover.”

Hannah is returning to Norfolk after her museums' career took her to Hampshire and Surrey. She was brought up in Acle and attended Acle High School, and said: “I'm really looking forward to taking on the running of such a fantastic museum.”

Hannah has worked in museums for the past eight years after studying medieval and modern history at Royal Holloway, University of London and completing a masters degree in museum studies at the Textile Conservation Centre, University of Southampton.

She has an extensive knowledge of military museums having worked as assistant curator at the Royal Logistic Corps Museum, Army Medical Services Museum and Army Physical Training Corps Museum.
