A new physical therapy clinic aiming to resolve the public's muscular aches and pains opened its doors in Acle this month.

The new clinic held an open day to celebrate the launch which included special taster sessions by the clinic's therapists and a visit from Norwich City footballer Wes Hoolahan.

Clinic owner Sharon Tomasso said: 'It was a phenomenal day at the clinic and the turnout was fantastic, even better than we had hoped for. Overall I would say that the response was positive from those who came along.'

Miss Tomasso has been involved in the health and fitness industry for more than 20 years and is also a sports massage lecturer at Lowestoft College.

She added: 'I have owned my own treatment rooms in the past but having my own clinic has always been a dream of mine. I couldn't have any more experience and knowledge in putting something like this together – it is the next stage of my career.

'There is such a need out there for a clinic like this, especially with all the NHS physiotherapy cuts because it means that the hospitals cannot do as much for you anymore.'

Acle Physical Therapy has three large treatment rooms and will offer physiotherapy, acupuncture, reflexology, hot stone massages and a unique 'stressbuster' package which combines a number of treatments to help those who are suffering from stress problems.

Miss Tomasso added: 'It's an affordable place to come for treatment for all muscular problems out there, especially bad backs, stiff necks and sore shoulders which everybody suffers from at one point or another.'
