ACLE High School is celebrating success, after becoming one of only 20 high schools in the country to win a major award from the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust at a celebration dinner.
More than 660 schools met the criteria of 60pc or more five +A* to C GCSE results including English and maths and/or a high performance specialist school designated between September 2006 and September 2007.
Acle High, a specialist science school, received a high performance award from Professor Dylan Wiliam, deputy director of the Institute of Education, University of London, and Sir James Hill, chairman SSAT.
Acle achieved 62pc A* to C including English and mathematics, a 17pc increase on the previous year's results.
Maxine Blocksidge, acting deputy head teacher received the award on behalf of the school.
