PARENTS and grandparents of children in the reception classes at Alderman Swindell First School were welcomed into the classroom to join pupils in a range of creative activities to do with elephants. The response was so overwhelming the library was commandeered as extra space. The children are taking part in the Go Elephant Project, which involves painting an elephant sculpture. The youngsters have become very enthused with the project and become very knowledgeable about elephants. A trip to Colchester Zoo to see the real thing is planned for later in the term.
