A much needed garden makeover has been unveiled by a Gorleston nursery.

With the help from the local Co-Op and customers for voting, the works were carried out by Upaveplus to transform Scribbles Day Nursery’s outside area.

Since the government’s introduction of 30 hour funded childcare and assistance with nursery fees, it has been expected that more parents will be looking for places for their children to access childcare.

Outdoor play is vital for good childcare access and the garden will ensure that all areas of development are promoted throughout.

The garden includes herb gardens, sensory activities and a mud kitchen.

Nursery director Kirsty Jenkins said: “From the planning to the carrying out of works, Gerry and Karl from Upaveplus considered extra things like the type of shingle to promote creative play to the access of children with additional needs. All in all, this is an amazing addition.”
