VENUES named on a list of training camps for teams preparing for the London 2012 Games include the Central Beach in Great Yarmouth for beach volleyball.

The guide will be published at the Beijing Games and circulated to all national Olympic committees and national Paralympic committees.

The East of England is fourth in the overall list of venues on the list - only behind London, the South East and the North East.

Yarmouth is no stranger to beach volleyball as it holds national tournaments of the increasingly popular sport every year, including last August's Beach Classic event.

Graham Plant, borough councillor responsible for tourism, said: “This shows national recognition for our wonderful beach and the many facilities we have here.”
