TEENAGE girl band EFX say they are not going to be put off entering more national competitions after failing to get beyond ITV's X-Factor Boot Camp.

Three members of the band, Kalli, Charlotte and Katrice called in to Radio Yare's Afternoon Delight programme, jointly produced by the Mercury, and told listeners they had written off their disappointment and put it all down to experience.

Kalli said: "What you see on TV is edited from what actually happens. There are three auditions in London before you actually get to meet the judges. We sang Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy which is an old song from the Andrews Sisters. The panel weren't very nice about it, they said it was dated. So we changed our hair and sang a more updated song when we went back in to see them again.”

Charlotte added: "We changed our clothes in the dressing room only to be told by the cameraman that we would have to change back in to our previous costumes as they hadn't finished the shoot."

Katrice added: "With all this going on, I suppose we were lucky to get as far as we did and it certainly has not deterred us from trying again in future."

The girls returned to their respective schools this week agreeing academic studies are very important.

For the future, Kalli said: "I hope in two years time we will all still be together but of course things happen in life that may prevent this.

“We are growing up but as we all get on so well I hope we can all still be singing professionally together."

Although the band is unsigned, manager Rich Copland had issued a new nine track CD entitled Dreams That Glisten and listeners heard them performing two tracks Sledgehammer Baby and SOS/Tainted Love.
