Bar in Great Yarmouth pays tribute to Tony Green by setting up fundraising page

A Great Yarmouth bar has set up a fundraising page in memory of Tony Green to help his family pay for his funeral.

Bar X have set up a facebook page which people can donate money to. It has already raised more than £500.

In a message on their page, they wrote: “We have had a massive response so far to our fundraising efforts, a massive thank you to everyone so far. We have had loads of donations for the raffle coming in from many other businesses which we will list at a later date which is fantastic, thank you to all of you.

“Cash donations at the bar have been wonderful, can’t thank you all enough ... We really need to push this out there and let’s raise as much as possible for such a fantastic young lad Tony Green.”

The bar will also be holding a few events in the near future to help raise more money.

The body of Mr Green, 25 and who was from Lowestoft, was found in the River Yare on Saturday afternoon after he had been missing for almost a week. He was last seen at Bar X on the night of September 8.
