An autograph card signed by The Beatles when they played at Great Yarmouth in 1963 has sold for more than £3,300 at an auction.
The 55-year-old band card belonged to Mike Nicholson, a retired carpenter/joiner from King’s Lynn, who bagged the autographs at a gig at the ABC Cinema.
It was auctioned by Bishop & Miller, based at Stowmarket.
A statement from the auctioneers said: “The Beatles autographed band card, signed by all four of its members from a concert in 1963 in Great Yarmouth, sold for £3,340 to a buyer in Baltimore, America; this exceeded its estimate by more than two-fold.”
The Beatles played at the ABC Cinema in Regent Road on June 23 and July 28 in 1963.
The June 23 show saw The Beatles share the bill with four other acts: The Brook Brothers, The Terry Young Combo, Erkey Grant, Tommy Wallis and Beryl and the compere was Ted Rogers.
