A Belton lad and former Lynn Grove school pupil has been signed by the record label which represents Ed Sheeran, Clean Bandit and James Blunt.

Connor Mullally, known professionally as Mullally, confirmed he had been signed by Atlantic Records UK in a post on Twitter.

The former Lynn Grove pupil said: “Today I signed with the mighty @AtlanticRcrdsUK ... I am so thankful for this opportunity, this is just the beginning.”

This follows the recent announcement that the singer will be performing at this year’s Reading Festival and he is due to perform at South by South West Festival in Austin, Texas this weekend.

Mullally’s musical style is described as “neo-soul” and takes influences from legends such as Marvin Gaye, Van Morrison and Amy Winehouse.

His first three releases have been listened to six million on Spotify and last year alone. He also won Best Solo Male at the Unsigned Music Awards.
