TWO rooms packed with 366 entries, some 30 up on last year, from gardening through arts, crafts and photography greeted viewers at the Annual Belton and Lothingland Produce & Crafts show in Belton on Sunday.

Astonishingly, there was a massive 125 exhibits in the photography section alone.

All judges remarked on the quality of entries and the difficulty in coming to a decision for classes and section cups and trophies.

A packed hall at the end of the afternoon saw parish council chairman John Rudrum present the awards and Mrs Rita Green present the John Green Photography Cup which was voted on by all present to select the public's overall favourite photo - and which went to Donna Mann.

Mr Rudrum congratulated the committee for their work and show chairman Brian Swan thanked everybody involved especially two judges who had been called in as the last minute to cover illness of regular judges, one just an hour before judging.

Also on show was a patchwork quilt completed by a team of volunteers organised by Claire Watts which caused a lot of interest and a display of work by the Belton Art group.

Cups winners were:

St John salver (flowers/pot plants ) Valerie Fiske.

Myhills Nursery Cup (roses) H Taylor.

Fiske Cup (vegetables) Brian Swan.

Belton gardening Club (fruit) Rita Green.
