As Southgate and his men prepare for the country’s biggest match since 1990, pubs and fans across Great Yarmouth are gearing up for the big night.

England play Croatia at 7pm with a place in the World Cup final up for grabs and undoubtedly many people will struggle to concentrate at work as the excitement builds.

Certainly, the editorial team at the Mercury have been gripped by World Cup fever.

But in case you are not sure where to watch the game, here is a list of a few of the pubs that have proven popular with football fans:

• The Pub on the Shrubs

The Gorleston pub in Hawthorn Road will be serving up four pint jugs and drink deals, with the match screened in four different rooms on big screens. There are also two 10 foot big screens at the pub and surround sound.

• The Duke of Wellington

England fans can enjoy a free shot every time the Three Lions score and the match will be followed by karaoke with Sassy Sarah.

• Kingfisher Bar & Restaurant

The match will be played on a big screen at the Burgh Castle bar and their special World Cup menu will be available from 5pm until 9pm. The bar will also serve a free shot for every England goal.

• Liberty’s Public House

There will be a free barbecue during the game and 50p off all pints until the first goal is scored. There will also be football sweepstakes. The pub has six large screens, including a new large screen in the beer garden.

• The Kings Arms

The Northgate Street pub has a big screen in the garden and an outside bar and barbecue for all England games. The Mercury will be reporting live from the pub for tonight’s game and you can follow the coverage on our website, Facebook and Twitter.

• The Old Hall Hotel

This Caister spot has proven popular with fans due to their ‘super sized screen’.

• Quay Pride

The pub is offering a curry and a pint for £5 and all pints will drop by 10p every time England score.

• The Mariners Compass

This Gorleston pub will be playing the game on the big screen and has reminded punters to bring ID.

• Spencers Sportsbar

Strings of England flags are hung aloft in the bar in Regent Road, where there is a loud surround sound system and two HD projector screens.

• The Feathers Pub

The Market Gates pub is expected to busy for the big game.

• Merlin Sports Bar

Every game during the tournament has been played here across numerous large screens.
