AN early start hailed the arrival of 40 eager cyclists at Edward Worlledge Junior School this week due to the Sustrans run incentive, Bike It. Bike It Officer, Kevin House, along with a representative from Cycles UK were on hand to fix any cycle that was in desperate need of some tender loving care, which either came in the form of flat tyres, brake cables neededreplacing or chains that needed oiled.
AN early start hailed the arrival of 40 eager cyclists at Edward Worlledge Junior School this week due to the Sustrans run incentive, Bike It.
Bike It Officer, Kevin House, along with a representative from Cycles UK were on hand to fix any cycle that was in desperate need of some tender loving care, which either came in the form of flat tyres, brake cables needed
replacing or chains that needed oiled. The service was free to all
Worlledge cyclists and for their sterling efforts of making an early start to school, the children also received breakfast whilst having their cycles repaired.
Bike It is delivered by the charity Sustrans and is one of the country's most successful schemes to get young people cycling on a regular basis.
To add to the children having their bicycles fixed for free, the school had also received a gift from Tesco of 100 bicycle helmets which were given away to the regular cycle users.
