PEOPLE from the Yarmouth and Waveney areas aged 60 to 70 can receive advice tomorrow on the NHS bowel cancer screening programme.
Nurses from the programme will be in Yarmouth's Market Gates Shopping Centre from 9am to 3pm to raise the awareness of the risk of bowel cancer, which kills 16,000 people a year nationally, and ways to detect it at an early stage.
The screening programme is available to anyone aged 60 to 70 registered with a Yarmouth and Waveney GP and from June the scheme will be extended to people aged up to 75.
