A Great Yarmouth boxing club's hopes of moving to bigger premises are likely to receive a lift at a meeting of the borough council's development control committee on Tuesday.

Kingfisher Amateur Boxing Club wants to fund the move by building homes on its existing site in St Peter's Plain which it has outgrown after 10 years.

A previous scheme for four town houses, submitted earlier this year, was rejected amid complaints it would be out of keeping with neighbouring two-storey properties.

However, council officers are recommending approval of a scaled down plan for three town houses saying it has been sufficiently amended to take into account neighbours' concerns.
