Grace Lilian Crome was found dead at her Bradwell home at about 9.30pm on Wednesday after a fire is believed to have started in a heater.
Neighbours had suspected that the fire in Miss Crome's hallway may have been started deliberately but after extensive forensic investigations police have ruled out any foul play.
Three fire engines were called out to the New Year's Eve blaze in Beccles Road and two firefighters had to don breathing mask before they entered the hallway to put out the flames and found Miss Crome dead.
Miss Crome, known as Lilian, had lived in Bradwell for at least 60 years and was a member of the village's gardening club and the Yaresiders folk dance group.
