The finishing touches were being put in place earlier this week for the 10th annual Great Yarmouth Beer and Cider Festival at St George’s Theatre this weekend.

With over 3,500 pints of ale and cider to be drunk over four days before the festival closes at 3pm on Sunday, organisers are hoping for some thirsty people to attend.

The annual celebration of real ale and cider opened for its first session on Thursday with over 40 real ales and 20 different ciders available, a selection that promises something for everyone.

There is plenty of live music on offer too with singer/songwriter Jude Garrod and Banjaxeld tonight, Friday, acoustic soloist Sam Greig and Beatboxing singer Differential performing Saturday lunchtime and acoustic duo Junk Shop Poets and The Watchover performing at the Saturday night session.

There will also be food and snacks available in the pavilion building next door along with a selection of alternative refreshments and, weather permitting, tables and chairs for festivalgoers to enjoy their food and beer outside.

Entry prices vary from £3 for the lunchtime sessions, £5 for the evening sessions and £2 for the Sunday final “mop up”.
