Brexit ‘could not be worse’ for town – Labour stalwart

A long-serving councillor in a key area of the Labour Party has said his party must not lose sight of the need for infrastructure.
The Norfolk county councillor for the Yarmouth North and Central division, Mick Castle, said Labour needed to get the right message for the area, and it would be different to the rest of East Anglia, much of which had been more prosperous.
He said he thought people liked Jeremy Corbyn as they did not see him as part of the political establishment, but said he had received a lot of bad press.
Mr Castle said it was going to be a challenge to reunify the party and stick to the issues
that really mattered, such as grammar schools and how to tackle Brexit.

politics mood.
He rebutted the perception that Great Yarmouth was anti-immigration, claiming it was more evident in the villages surrounding the town, than the town itself, where many of the schools taught the children of immigrants.
Labour were defeated in Great Yarmouth in 2010 when the party lost power in Westminster.
