Bricklayers Arms death: fourth man charged

A fourth man has been charged following the death of 40-year-old Ian Church at the beginning of May.
Roy Smith, aged 31, of Ranelagh Road, Sheerness, Kent has been charged with one count of Section 18 grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.
He has been detained in police custody to appear at Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday).
Police were called at about 1.55am on Saturday, May 5 to a disturbance outside the Bricklayers Arms pub on Nelson Road Central, Great Yarmouth. Officers arrived on scene to find a 40-year-old man with serious head injuries.
Todd Esherwood, 24, of Saxon Road, Great Yarmouth, 29-year-old Tony Smith, of Sidney Close, Great Yarmouth, 30-year-old Stuart Layden of South Quay, Great Yarmouth and 33-year-old Kelly Taylor, of Harris Road, Sheerness, Kent, all charged with grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with this incident, will all next appear at Norwich Crown Court for a Plea and Case Management Hearing on Friday, August 10.
A fifth man, arrested in connection with the incident, a 43-year-old, remains on bail pending further enquiries.
