BrightHouse, the weekly payment store, is poised to sign contracts to take over the empty Vergo store - formerly the Co-op - in Great Yarmouth Market Place.
The rapidly expanding retailer currently has 210 stores nationwide, including Norfolk outlets in Norwich and King's Lynn.
It is understand that the new store, one of 20 BrightHouse is hoping to open ahead of Christmas, will create at least seven jobs.
Bruce Sturrock, chairman of Yarmouth Town Centre Partnership, said: “I am delighted that a large and central site is not going to remain empty for long.”
