Residents of Burgh Castle are being invited to a parish council meeting to hear about and make comments on plans to install more than 100 caravan bases and extract minerals in the village.

Great Yarmouth Borough Council has received an application to change the use of an arable field beside the Cherry Tree Holiday Park on Mill Road to extend the area of holiday use with the installation of 107 caravan bases.

A second application is from Folkes Plant and Aggregates at Welcome Pit on Butt Lane to change various conditions of their planning consent granted in 2006 to extend working and extraction of materials and subsequent restoration of the site for a further five years to December 31 2025.

The extra Burgh Parish Council meeting is on Thursday, May 24 from 7pm in the village hall on Church Road.

The meeting is open to the public who will be allowed to comment on the applications.
