POLICE in Great Yarmouth are warning householders to remain vigilant and pay extra attention to home security following six burglaries in the town over the weekend.

POLICE in Great Yarmouth are warning householders to remain vigilant and pay extra attention to home security following six burglaries in the town over the weekend.

Officers have urged residents to ensure their property is secure as several burglaries took place as a result of security lapses.

The following thefts took place:

Between 5.30 and 10pm on Friday suspects entered a property on South Market Road, through an insecure rear door and stole an X-Box games console and four games.

A quantity of stereo equipment was stolen from home in Hampshire Court, King Street, Yarmouth after access was gained through an insecure front door.

The break-in took place between 4am on Friday, and 2pm on Saturday.

A large amount of cash was stolen at Elder Green, Gorleston, between 7 and 9pm on Saturday after a thief climbed through an open a bathroom window.

Between midnight and 10am on Sunday access was gained to a property on Jury Street, after the house keys were stolen earlier in the day. A search was made of the property and several items stolen including a Playstation 3, bank cards and a Nokia and LG mobile phone and a Toshiba laptop.

A TV was stolen from a house in Northgate Street, after a street-facing window was left open.

The theft took place between 4pm on Saturday and 8.40pm Sunday. A boiler was damaged during the burglary flooding the house.

A Sanyo 32” plasma TV, Technomate satellite receiver and a JVC video camera were stolen from a house on Havelock Road, between Monday, May 24, and Monday, June 28.
