Businesses impress Great Yarmouth Dragons
Businesses ventured into the Dragons’ Den to try to impress four judges and win funding to enable their companies to grow.
Based on the Dragons’ Den TV series, entrepreneurs from the Great Yarmouth borough pitched their ideas to business owners Tom Lilley, of Serious Sites, and Mick Potter, of Wetworks Plumbing, as well as business advisers Sally Harding and Michaela Smith, of enterpriseGY, which offers support to new firms.
Firms that received funding included:
l Guancheros Sauce Co, in Upper Cliff Road, Gorleston. Owners Juan and Julie Bernadas produce Mojo dipping and cooking sauce and were awarded funding to cover a stand at The Real Food Festival at Earls Court and funding for a new aggressive marketing strategy in order for them to reach a wider market.
l Prevent Fire Limited, based at Beacon Park in Gorleston, which offers a wide range of fire protection services and products. The Dragons award the business money to gain their ISO 9001 accreditation which will enable them to tend for larger contracts.

l Local artist Jane Hall, who lives in Great Yarmouth, produces work based on the British seaside. The panel decided to award her funding to cover the cost of two exhibitions and a large monitor to make it easier for her to create work from photos she has taken.
