Great Yarmouth Borough Council is currently clearing a vacant commercial site it owns at South Denes as part of ongoing work to establish the Great Yarmouth Energy Park.
The energy park aims to ensure that businesses related to the offshore energy sector continue to have suitable land available, close to the port, so the borough is best placed to capture the significant future jobs, investment and regeneration opportunities anticipated in the sector.
MORE; energy park to create hundreds of jobsThis vacant site, which is being actively marketed to energy businesses as Vanguard Point, comprises a former petrol station canopy and some workshop/office buildings, which are being demolished.
The previous site occupier was Europcar, a vehicle rental business, which relocated in 2016 with the assistance of the borough council to North Quay, a more central location that is more favourable to their business.
MORE: compulsory purchase fearsThe energy park will be 50 acres in size.
