SILVER surfers will prove the only age that matters is the digital one when an internet cafe opens for sheltered housing residents aged 60 to 80.
The Great Yarmouth Sheltered Housing Complex in Manor Close will be opening its internet cafe on Monday with Yarmouth mayor Michael Jeal presenting certificates to residents who have completed the eight week Get Digital programme.
Funded by a 3,000 Government grant from the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) the residents completed the course to get up to speed on the web.
The scheme originated from residents’ desires to find out more about computers.
