Fast food chain Burger King will add its whopper to the array of take-away options in Great Yarmouth when it returns to the town on July 13. Mayor John Burroughs is lined up to officially mark its arrival at 10am.
The outlet has taken over the empty Bake House unit at the top of Market Gates overlooking Regent Boulevard and sees it pitching against fellow fast food titan Mcdonalds. A spokesman for Burger King said that “at least 40 people” would be working there during the peak summer season. It will be open from 9am to 10pm. She added: “As a franchise of BK we are working on a nationwide expansion so we have been looking in many areas of the UK for good opportunities and this excellent location has become available. The Great Yarmouth job centre have been brilliant in helping with recruitment the girls there Heidi King and Sherri Smith really went the extra mile.”
Operations director Lamen Reddy, said: “We are overwhelmed by the support and very encouraged by the buzz being created from the local community. We are very happy to bring BK back to Great Yarmouth just in time for the town’s busiest time of the year.”
