CHILDREN and staff from Busy Bees Day Nursery at the James Paget University Hospital took part in a world record attempt for the highest number of people dressed as bumble bees.

Last week, thousands of little ones from Busy Bees nurseries across the country dressed up for the challenge, sporting wings, antennae, and black and yellow stripes.

Some of the nurseries made their own costumes, while others painted the children's faces.

The record attempt is part of Busy Bees' involvement with the Department of Health's national campaign Change4Life, and aims to raise awareness of the initiative. Many nurseries got active on the day in their costumes, 'buzzing' round parks, making healthy 'bee-shaped' snacks, or holding a sports day.

Busy Bees in Gorleston enjoyed lots of fun activities, including lots of messy play and craft activities, making their own little bees. They also enjoyed music and movement sessions buzzing around being busy little bees. The children also made their own little bee snacks.

Nursery Manager Rebecca Batley said: “We all had great fun, and it was lovely to see how much effort had been put into the costumes.”
